OPEN CHANNEL 21C

Am often asked what does OPEN CHANNEL do. It's a good question... OPEN CHANNEL was founded some 31 years ago. Is it still relevant? I believe so... that it has a history steeped in public access, that its origins were about providing communities with the means to create their own media in tandem with contributions to the development of a rich screen culture in Victoria, if not the whole country, its relevancy sustains regardless of the pressures brought to bear on it.

OPEN CHANNEL fosters, nurtures, networks and protects the art and practice of moving image story telling in an open and participatory environment. It did this in the 1970s and it does this still today.
