International Conference on Auditory Display
November 2-5, 1997 Palo Alto, California
ICAD is a forum for presenting research on the use of sound to display data,
monitor systems, and provide enhanced user interfaces for computers and
virtual reality systems. It is unique in its singular focus on auditory
displays, and the array of perception, technology, design and application
areas that these encompass. Like its predecessors, ICAD '97 will be
a single-track conference.
The following topics will be explored via presentations and papers at ICAD:
- Sonification (data representation through audio)
- Audio on the World Wide Web
- Audio Access for the Visually Impaired
- Sound in Immersive Environments
- Sound in Human-Computer User Interfaces
- Tools and Systems to support auditory display
