SU Moblog specs
SU Moblog - brief specifications (draft)
The SU Moblog is a video, photo and sound upload server that also supports an MMS gateway providing server access from mobile devices.
Participating artists will download assets during pre-production to assist in the creation of their contributing parts/movements represented during the performance. This includes both sound and video artists.
The project will rely on a combination of existing services, those currently under development and facilities established specifically for it.
It is proposed that the main entrance point to the SU Moblog is a bi-lingual web page on the Art Center Nabi server. Korean participants will be directed to a local server, currently proposed to be established by Jinbonet. Australian participants will be directed to the EngageMedia server.
An open source MMS gateway is being developed by an EngageMedia colleague in Sydney (CAT), a portion funding via Toy Satellite's Australia Council grant, should it come through, will be directed to the development of the gateway. Both Australian and Korean servers will be provided with the gateway upon completion.
Proposed Korean based SU Moblog
It has been proposed that Jinbonet establish a Korean upload server by creating a custom blog from their public blog service. This would support a open access license that all participants would agree to license their content under.
The Korean SU Moblog would feature:
- Pre-defined upload categories
- Video
- Photos
- Sound
- Each entry would contain:
- Title
- Description (optional)
- License
- Uploaded asset
- Name of contributor
- Contact details (optional)
- No file size restriction
- MMS gateway
- Multiple users (account creation process to be defined)
