Communication Guerilla
The theory and practice of Communication Guerilla, a loose network of media activists, has been documented in a handbook (ISBN 3-922611-64-8) by the Verlag Liberaere Assoziation, Hamburg, Germany.
A kind of culture jamming guide for Europeans, it describes principles, methods, techniques and practices, groups and actions which raise awareness to the social process of communication.
The history of media activism is given profile, identifying political movements such as dada and the situationists, the "Buero fuer Ungewoehnliche Massnahmen (office for unusual measures)", Billboard Liberation Front, Barbie Liberation Organisation, Adbusters, Yippies and Radio Alice.
A recent review described the handbook as useful for "everybody, who is interested in the structure of communication, and especially those, who want to use methods of the communication guerilla themselves, will find useful and feasible hints."

The Handbook of Communcation Guerilla is currently only available in German. We suggest writing to the publishers encouraging them to produce and English version.
