Yes or No to Spam?

Whilst the manufacturers of commercial spam filter us out of their databases, the US based Interactive Services Association (ISA) is making it quite clear that they're against federal legislation to restrict unsolicited email, effectively keeping us as recipients to junk email for the duration of our online lives.

ISA The ISA don't want their government putting the brakes on the rapidly growing junk email industry; they argue instead for the widespread endorsement of email blocking software in concert with antifraud enforcement. Although many ISA members staunchly oppose spam, they can't afford to oppose it too loudly, nor too harshly. Perhaps the ISA represents a client base consisting of IEMMC members.

Both the ISA and IEMMC sites host mission statements of one sort or another. Come to your own conclusions about their intentions and commitment to the Internet as market place.
